Principal’s Roundup

Welcome to Term 3!

Term 3

Term 3 is going to be a busy term. Some of the activities that will be occurring are:

The Glenthorne National Park-Ityamaiitpinna Yarta excursion, School Sports Day, Preschool Sports Carnival, PAT testing (3-7) and SAPSASA District Athletics Day.

Excursion

Today the whole school went to Glenthorne National Park – Ityamaiitpinna Yarta, on an excursion to plant trees for Schools Tree Day and go on a nature walk. It was great to have Abe and Cameron from Nature Play SA join us on our adventure.

Planet Ark’s National Tree Day started in 1996 and has grown into Australia’s largest community tree planting and nature care event. It’s a call to action for all Australians to get their hands dirty and give back to the community. Schools Tree Day is Friday 29th July and National Tree Day is Sunday 31st July.

Our students did the community proud by planting many trees at Glenthorne National Park – Ityamaiitpinna Yarta (and they also got their hands dirty!).

New Staff

This term we welcome 2 new staff members, Jake Nicholls and Hayden Case-Peach. Jake is filling in for Deb and Terri who are both on long service leave and Hayden joins us as our Aboriginal Community Education Officer (ACEO).
