Goodbye 2019…

It is hard to believe that the end of 2019 is nearly upon us. I would like to take this opportunity to thank the school community for your ongoing support throughout the year. Whilst we are small, we are a strong and united community, which is the hallmark of everything that Hallett Cove South Primary School represents.

2020 promises to be a big and important year at Hallett Cove South Primary School. We will begin to see a number of changes in priorities as the school looks towards the future. Towards the end of this year and the beginning of next year, the Blue Unit will undertake some cosmetic changes to its interior, which will maximise the learning spaces within. Classrooms will be sectioned off and desktop computers will be removed from the middle of the unit, which will provide an open, collaborative learning space for students. 28 new laptops will be also purchased for our Primary Years students and new iPads for our Yellow Unit students.

We will continue to prioritise small class sizes so that we can better focus on the learning needs of individuals and small groups. The mantra for educators is to ‘know your students’, with an emphasis on using this knowledge to provide a relevant learning experience for all. The key focus areas that will remain our priorities in 2020 will be Literacy and Numeracy.

Updated versions of our Behaviour Education Policy/Procedure and Grievance Procedure will be distributed to families at the beginning of Term 1.
