Welcome to 2020!
I hope you all had a wonderful break and are recharged, ready to go for another exciting year. I whole-heartedly welcome our new families to the Hallett Cove South Primary School community and wish you all the best on your respective journeys. You will quickly discover that it is the closeness of our school community that sets us apart from many others.
I would also like to welcome Megan Hale and Nathan Smith to our staff this year. Megan joins our teaching staff in the Blue Unit having spent the last twelve months teaching in the Riverland. Nathan will support students as an SSO, also within the Blue Unit, having spent the last eighteen months working in a similar role at Seaford Rise Primary School.
This year, our teaching and learning focus areas will again centre around English and Mathematics. We strategically ensure that our class sizes remain small so that staff can dedicate significant time to working with individuals and small groups and target the learning to their specific needs.
Hallett Cove South also has a strong emphasis on student wellbeing through the Interoception program from Preschool- Year 7. Interoception works to help children understand and feel what’s going on inside their body. Having advanced Interoception enables children to self-regulate.
I am extremely optimistic and passionate about what our school is working towards and what it has to offer… here’s to a brilliant year of learning, community and fun!
Kind regards,
Chris Tippett
Principal
