Wow! Week 2 has come and gone! The students are well settled back into their learning routines this week. It has been great to see the connections the children have with each other and their environment. The 5/6 class are working on community projects to improve our school environment. I can’t wait to see the outcomes.

Most classes are having 3 way conversations/interviews next week. Ms Shaw has been away and will arrange her class appointments when she returns.

2023 Enrolments

It’s time to enrol for 2023 if your child will be starting preschool or school. Please pop in to the Front Office to collect an enrolment pack for preschool or reception.

We invite you to take a personal tour with one of our leadership team, Vicki or Donna. Please call on 8381 4080 to book a tour.

Preschool 2023

Children are entitled to access 4 terms (1 year) of government preschool in the year before they start school.

DfE are introducing a mid-year intake into preschool. This means that from 2023 children who turn 4 years old:

  • Before 1 May are eligible to start preschool at the beginning of the year.
  • On 1 May to 31 October can commence preschool through the mid-year intake at the start of term 3 of that year.

Regardless of whether your child starts at the beginning of the year, or through a mid-year intake they will undertake 4 terms of preschool.

Children who turn 4 years after 31 October will be eligible to commence preschool at the start of the following year.

If you’re unsure about the best time for your child to start preschool, talk to Annette or Donna about your options.

The Department for Education’s annual parent survey

The 2022 parent survey is now open and runs from 1 August to 28 August.

We encourage you to complete the survey as we want your views on our school and the education system. It takes less than 10 minutes.

The survey is coordinated by the Department for Education.

How to participate

You will have received a unique survey link via email or SMS.

If you did not receive an email or SMS with your unique survey link, contact education.ParentSurvey@sa.gov.au and include our school’s name in your email.

Your answers will not identify you or your child. Only collated feedback will be provided to our school.

How your feedback will be used

Your feedback will help us understand:

  • what we’re doing well
  • where we can improve
  • what’s important to you.

We’ll use the information collected to inform school improvement planning and activities at the school.

The department may also use your feedback to inform and evaluate the Parent Engagement Strategy and other key initiatives to improve education in South Australia.
