“Happy World Teachers Day to all our great teachers!”

The dictionary defines a teacher as – a person who teaches, especially in a school.

While this may be true it doesn’t even begin to describe the work they do or the special qualities of the unique individuals who choose to take on this valuable role in children’s lives.

This definition doesn’t recognise their value or the profound and lasting impact they have on the minds, hearts, and lives of their students.

A teacher not only educates a child’s mind, they also nurture, inspire and encourage them to dream, believe and reach for the stars.

They cheer for them when they succeed, they hurt with them when they fail, and they continually strive to help them through the obstacles and challenges they will inevitably face not only in the classroom but also in life.

Our teachers truly are our biggest assets and allies. Not only do they help us shape children into wonderful humans, but they also provide a safe environment for them. They create a space where children not only learn but are encouraged to try, embrace success, learn from failure and to be unapologetically themselves.

We are so fortunate at Hallett Cove South School to have some of the very best teachers educating the children. While each brings something different to their classrooms, they all share a common goal and that is to ensure every single child at HCSPS receives a quality education, has a feeling of belonging and develops a lifelong love of learning.

All the efforts and hard work they have invested in bringing out the best in children can never be repaid in mere words. We can only feel grateful for having a teachers like them!

To all our teachers:

We thank you.                  We celebrate you.                    We appreciate you.

Happy World Teacher’s Day!

Cheers

Donna
