It’s hard to believe we have two more weeks of school. More importantly, Easter Bunny will be here soon!

House Captains

It is with great pleasure that we can announce that the following students have been appointed as the 2022 HCSPS House Captains:

Yellow/Karara: Hailee and Summer

Blue/Waringa: Bay and Kitty

Green/Amaroo: Tayla and Shyanne

Sports Day

At this point we are still planning on running Sports Day on Thursday 14/04/2022. Unfortunately, this could change as we are getting daily updates based on COVID numbers. We will keep you updated as soon as anything changes.

Preschool Playground

This week has seen the completion of stage 1 of the Pre-school playground upgrade. The children have enjoyed playing and creating on the platform/stage and climbing on the log area. Today some of the bushes and trees along the pathway have been trimmed. I wonder what will happen next?

Student free days and School Closure Day

Each year schools are allowed to have some Student Free Days for staff training. These days allow us to come together as a whole staff and update our skills and school learning policies. Our first Student Free Day will be on Monday May 2, which is the first day of Term 2.

COVID Update

This week we have seen a rise in positive COVID cases at the school and OSHC. As a community we have been fortunate to have very few positive cases at school. Please follow SA Health and DfE guidelines if your child is unwell. We are following the guidelines for schools and contacting families to come and collect any child who is unwell. We are doing this to help keep everyone safe.

It’s extremely important that you keep your child/ren home if they are:

  • unwell
  • experiencing any COVID-19 symptoms
  • any other member of the household has COVID-19
  • they are a close contact for a person who has COVID-19 and are required to quarantine

Please refer to the SA Health website if you need more information.

AGM

On May 23rd we will be holding our AGM for our Governing Council. This is a way to be involved in your child/ren’s schooling. The Governing Council meet twice a term at 6pm on a Monday night. Why not come along and have a laugh and chat with other parents while helping to make decisions about the school. More information will be coming out early next Term, including nomination forms and meeting details.

Calendar

We have been conscious that we haven’t sent home a calendar for this term. This was due to many activities being postponed or cancelled due to COVID restrictions. We will be sending one home early next term, which will, hopefully, have lots of activities and events on it.

Enjoy the weekend with your family.

Kind regards
