Dear HCSPS Community,

As Term 1 comes to a close our school community has faced, and will continue facing some unique challenges. I would like to thank our amazing community for your support during this time. The staff have been overwhelmed by the caring conversations, emails and comments they have received and we thank you all for being so understanding.

As we look forward to Term 2 staff have been very positive about embracing the new term and we are hopeful that learning can return to a more normal. Staff continue to work hard ensuring that all students have access to engaging and purposeful learning experiences.

Given the current circumstances please ensure you are connected to the school via our Instagram and Facebook pages (scan code below) or the Skoolbag app to enable us to get information to you as needed. These platforms allow us to communicate with families easily and quickly.

Through all of this, please be assured that the health, safety and emotional wellbeing of children, staff and community members, is our number one priority.
I would like to thank everyone for their support this term and hope you all get a chance to spend some quality time with your children over the break. Reminder – The first day of Term 2 is a Student Free Day, children return to school on Tuesday 3rd May. Staff will be working with an Occupational Therapist to further their knowledge on self-regulation and classroom environment.

This week our founding group of Children’s University Students were presented their Learning Passports by Gemma from the Children’s University. Gemma was very excited to come to our school as she went here when she was in primary school. Our CUA students will be able to participate in many learning experiences as they start their learning journey. A big shout out to Vicki and Gemma for being our CUA Coordinators. Without them CUA would not be able to be active at HCSPS.

On behalf of the staff I would like to wish our families a safe, healthy and happy break.

Warm regards

Donna O’Leary
